Pirates Fall to Bruins on Sunday

SPOKANE, Wash. – Andrea Garcia-Milla poured in six goals to lead George Fox in a 21-0 shutout victory over Whitworth on Sunday afternoon. 

Meridith Teel and Jennifer Burke each scored four goals for the Bruins (10-2, 7-0 NWC). Liah Gingerich and Trinity Frank took Whitworth's (0-9, 0-6 NWC) only two shots on goal. 

George Fox controlled possession for most of the game, winning 19 of 22 draw controls. The Bruins also held Whitworth to just five successful clears. The Pirates grabbed 10 groundballs on 17 Bruin turnovers. 

Maddie Cook led the Bucs with three groundballs and Gingerich grabbed two. Cook and Jayna Santiago each forced a turnover for the Pirates.

Whitworth returns to action Friday, April 12 when it takes on Pacific (Ore.) on the road.
