Willamette took the early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute. After a shot by Carter McCleary was blocked, Ryan Sato put in the rebound for his sixth goal of the year.
Chase Reidt attempted to tie up the match in the 56th minute, almost sending his shot over the head of Bearcats goalkeeper Mason Kelliher, but Kelliher made the save.

A red card on Max Berner-Hays in the 73rd minute forced the Bearcats to play with 10 players for the remainder of the match.
Willamette held off the Bucs until the eighth minute of overtime. Clifford sent in the match-winner after Kelliher got pulled off his line. It was Clifford's fifth goal of the season.
